    Volunteer profile: United Planet requires volunteers to be flexibility, courage, open-minded, tolerant and compassionate.

    Work description: Volunteers are expected to assist local teachers in rural schools, create a playful environment while enhancing the creativity of the children, educate teachers about how to ensure regular health check ups for the children and about how to incorporate basic hygiene awareness in their lesson plans.

    Benefits for volunteers: The NGO provides volunteers' accommodations. The premises are comprised of ethnically made huts with private toilets and baths. There are also recreational facilities, video viewing equipment, and a well-equipped kitchen. The NGO offers a number of optional afternoon activities that would help the volunteers have a wider impact during their stay, including additional tutoring for children struggling with their studies, maintenance of institutional facilities, and childcare in hospitals.

    Other Details: Assisting local teachers in rural schools has been one of the most popular and successful projects. Volunteers participate in educational enhancement for students of 1 to 5 classes.

    Volunteer profile: The volunteer will handle multiple tasks.

    Work description: Volunteers will be expected to attend Wake Up Pune related events to raise the profile of the campaign; identify potential new partners; develop fundraising initiatives to generate funds; supervise creation of campaign materials such as leaflets, posters etc; manage the WUP website (www.wakeuppune.org),updating regularly with details of WUP events and HIV-related news; manage local and international volunteers in day-to-day campaign related activities, and at key WUP events (e.g. World AIDS Day celebrations).
